When we don't want to think about our own lives we often turn to books, magazines, music, movies, to supply us with fuel to create alternative lives in our mind, or a different perspective on things. It helps us imagine, put ourselves somewhere else, and at the same time create time and space to breath.
Here are two photos I took which I believe represent these feelings.
Two photos that represent my alternative world.

(My friend Lucrezia's beautiful tattoo) I really wanted to photograph this with a macrolens, so I could swim into this world of peace and imagination. In this photo we can't see anything aside from the words and her bare skin. These two elements co-exist in this photo and in a way defines humanity to me. It illustrates how we humans unlike other beings are capable of creating meanings and associate images, sounds, and memories just by reading these simple words.

This is a attempt to connect to the self. When we look in the mirror we try to see reality in it but it's just a reflection of wavelengths of light and sound. The fact we cannot see ourselves but we can see the world often annoys me and intrigues me. I feel lost most of the time because I don't comprehend myself, and the world always influences my decisions in regards to what I do and where I go about. Having no control of one's life can be annoying, because it makes it challenging for us to find happiness. Though, the world teaches us about ourselves and it influences us to coexist with people, animals, and the environment. Looking through the mirror provides us with the satisfaction of seeing our form through our own eyes. However, we can never see ourselves truly, the way other people see us or the way the world sees us. All we can do now is grow and adapt to this world and its people in order to define and understand who we are.
Here are my interpretations of my photos.
If you have time I would like to know what you feel and what you imagine when you see these?
Thank you
the second photo is so beautiful... when I saw it, before reading the text, I thought immediately; he's searching for himself... it really says a lot, at least to me. this one doesn't need explanation, excellent work.
